Ricky & Manny - eight years
‘In the words of Kylie Minogue: it was love at first sight.’
When you first meet Ricky and
Manny, it’s very easy to pick up
on the love the two share.
They first met eight years ago on a
crowded dancefloor. Both were partying at
IT nightclub and they caught each other’s
glance. “In the words of Kylie Minogue: it
was love at first sight,” jokes Ricky. “He first
impressed me with his dancing,” says
Manny, “and then he had me in stitches
with his sense of humour.” Worried that he
would miss his chance, Ricky approached
Manny and asked him out on a date. “I was
the one to speak first,” says Ricky. “I didn’t
want to risk his leaving before I could say
something to him.”
The chance paid off and soon they
shared their first kiss, which Ricky describes
as “dee-licious.” “It was like I could kiss
him forever,” adds Manny.
Meeting each other’s families was
equally easy. “My mom immediately
loved him,” says Ricky. After being
together for eight years, they say they
can’t imagine life without each other.
“It’s like living with my best friend,”
says Ricky. “I love waking up with
him and snuggling. I never want to get
out of bed.”
“He really is my better half,” says
Manny. “I realize that when I’m away for
work over long periods, I can’t sleep right,
and I constantly feel like I’m missing
something. I don’t know what my life
would be without him, and frankly I don’t
care to find out.”
